Victims of emotional abuse have a knack for creating fear of something in all new relationships whether it be someone leaving or not being good enough or both. There are many other fears that a victims will have. Emotional abuse victims will create a fear of not understanding new knowledge which brings these fears to the light.
The black spots represent the fear coming through the shadows.

Appreciate "The Lightle Things in Life"

This piece is the solution to "Torn". When a Emotional abuse victim feels torn from the world and doesn't know how to fix it, the answer is always appreciating the little things in life. After doing this, it will bring them into the lights of life. Though its hard to hold on sometimes, victims only need to empty their baskets and start over.

I was inspired to make this when I tipped up the fruit basket and put it on my head, being my silly ol' self.

This piece represents a victim's feelings and emotions. Victims of emotional abuse go through an array of emotions that tear them apart from the world. They feel inadequate, inferior, and Torn from reality.

Guardian Angel

This piece is the solutions/answer to "Solitude". Although it takes a long time to reconcile or understand, victims of emotional abuse have to realize that someone does love them. It's hard to understand because the pain has been too much for too long, but what the victim must remember, that they, like everyone else has someone there for them. They have someone to look out for them. Their "Guardian Angel".

This piece symbolizes loneliness. A victim of emotional abuse begins to lose trust in the people around them. They feel like they cannot confide in anyone. The victims' inner most emotions will continue to stir inside making the victims feel inadequate and alone, even if there are people around.

This is not one of the emotional abuse projects, but a project I had to do for class. I am going to go back and touch it up, but for now, It's done. Hope you enjoy!

War of Self

Victims of emotional abuse suffer with their self-worth. They will fight with their self-esteem. One day they will love themselves, and the next, hate themselves. They believe that they will never live up to what society wants from them, but really they are thinking that they will never become what they want to be, so they become dead inside trying to find it. What the victims need to do is harness their beauty and use words of encouragement every day, one day they will become someone they will love to look at.

Sporadic Moments

This piece is the solution to the prior piece. The solution is only temporary because there is no real cure for depression. The emotional abuse victims can ride the roller coaster ride, full of ups and downs. There is always going to be a part of the victim that is dipped into depression, but if he/she continues to follow his/her hearts, there will be "Sporadic Moments" of bliss to get them through.

Scarred For Life

The First pieces is called,  "Scarred for life". Emotional abuse victims may acquire depression in the future or in their current state of being. Depression takes hold of its victims. It controls their thoughts negatively and makes them feel lost. I wanted this painting to represent the feeling of being in a black hole and having no real way to escape. The feeling will supersede all others that may have been acquired throughout life. It will never truly go away.

Altered Book Sculpture:

               The book that I altered was pieced together from three book covers. I used cut paper for the pages, and the rest of the materials are: one blade, fingernail polish, black and gold acrylic paint, tape, band aids, string, and wax. This book was inspired by someone who had taken the breath from their own lungs. Life is precious and emotions are easily malleable. I have been distributing the poem written in the middle of the book, in the places where I have been. I wrote this poem long ago during a student leader camp I was associated with. In this camp, we all came together and shared stories that touched everyone's hearts. We were trying to figure out a cure for bullying because too many students were committing suicide due to it. I feel that this book will generate an abundance of thoughts and will provoke some good intentions. (hopefully).
