I was walking through the hall way in one of the buildings at main campus with one of my paintings that I had done for class this semester. I wanted to show my counselor what I had done. A lady stopped me to ask if I was carrying around my work. Her name is Robyn. She is the owner of Desserts by Robyn. Her new place of business is the Nikander Nook Coffee shop. She asked me to make her a painting on her showcase. I agreed and asked her to pay me five dollars an hour. She agreed to that. I was supposed to be using the school's materials for this, but I do not like the paint they have provided, so I used my own. after 11 1/2 Hours of painting this piece, I was finished and very proud. when I went to make sure everything was the way she wanted it to be and pick up my pay, she was very nice, LOVED the painting, and wanted to tell everyone about it. after handing me the money, (which I had thought to be 60 dollars), I bought some of her desserts to try... which are really amazing by the way. When I left with a smile on my face, I realized that she had said something about giving me more than we had talked about. so I got to work, and realized that she had given me an extra 4 hours worth! I was Flabbergasted at the fact that someone enjoyed my work that immensely. I felt accomplished. I have included the pictures of the process.
