One Theme, Seven Projects

For my class I was assigned a semester project. I was to choose a topic for a theme that was to be used for 7 compositions. The theme that I chose was "Emotional abuse". While researching this particular theme, I came across a doctor who knew another artist who painted the same theme. She spoke highly of this artist but knew that he was headed for a road that he would get lost on. He only knew to paint the pain. By doing this, he was headed in a downward spiral. All he knew was pain.
            Doctor Silvia Hartmann asked this painter at one of his openings if he ever thought of painting the solution. Of course, he never did because people who have been emotional abused, rarely ever think that there is hope. I enjoyed reading this and it influenced me to paint the pain and then answer it with a painting of the solution. over the next 14 weeks I will be posting a written statement and a photo of each piece.
